Little Flirt

My little punk has discovered PEOPLE.

I mean, sure, she had Mommy and Mama and they would do things like Provide The Milk or Become A Warm Bed, but she preferred to do her talking and laughing at certain inanimate objects, like green giraffe, or the wheel of the stroller. We would get those "I just woke up!" smiles but she was /really/ into toys.

But not this weekend.

This weekend, she started openly engaging and interacting with Other People. First it was Michael when we went to some friends' house. And today with Morgan. Big eye contact, big smiles. And with us, she's just full of big grins and coos and it was a long wait but it feels so nice.

Until she pukes. Because then of course she starts screaming again. But oh, the smiles!

Awww. Lucky you. :) Welcome to a lifetime of smiles (with a brief adolescent interlude, of course).

And did you get the crap about how "babies with reflux aren't bothered by it"? We did. From the pediatric GI, of all people. We hate him.
Poor little pukey girl.

We haven't heard that she's not bothered by it, but there is this weird general consensus of medicine that "as long as the baby is gaining weight, the puking is fine," which of course it isn't. I mean, who likes to puke?

My pedi is very supportive (sort of) but their main things are to tell me to "slip in another feeding if I'm worried about her not eating enough" and "come in for a weight check and monitoring" which of course comes with copays. I can check her weight for free at the breastfeeding clinic at the hospital.
